ABOUT

Love@Roo began with a simple conviction: that Jesus would be at Bonnaroo—serving with kindness, gathering with countercultures, spiritual misfits, and curious outcasts, and meeting people right in the middle of their story. So we come, year after year, to do the same. We come to create safe space and serve in the middle of the noise—to hold space for both joy and pain. To offer love that doesn’t push or pressure but gently invites. In that sacred in-between, lives are touched, hearts are softened, and the Spirit moves.
Our approach is simple: no agenda, no judgment—just love in action.

OUR MISSION

Love@Roo exists to share the love of Jesus through pure, intentional love—without agenda, expectation, or judgment. Each year at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, over 100,000 people gather all seeking an experience. We meet individuals exactly where they are, creating a safe and welcoming space where they can rest, be cared for, and experience true love in action. Through simple acts of service—offering hydration, first aid and hygiene items, live music, and interactive art experiences—we foster connection, creativity, and trust. This opens doors for gospel-centered conversations that are organic, compassionate, and life-giving, leading to genuine transformation. By addressing both physical and spiritual needs, we cultivate lasting relationships that extend beyond the festival. We walk alongside individuals to offer support and help them grow in the grace-filled love of Christ. At Love@Roo we serve with intentionality, following the example of Jesus in how we connect and serve.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to be a light in the heart of culture—reaching those who may never step inside a church building by meeting them in their world, just as Jesus did. By building trust and relationship, our intent is to soften hearts to make way for the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Our vision transcends the Bonnaroo experience, helping our new friends discover community and discipleship. We envision a movement where love is demonstrated through action, creating lasting impact beyond the festival grounds by ensuring every person we encounter knows they are seen, valued, and loved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you affiliated with a specific church or denomination?

Nope! Love@Roo is made up of volunteers from a wide range of Christian backgrounds. We’re united by our love for Jesus and our desire to follow His example of grace, humility, radical love, and sharing the gospel.

What do you actually do at the festival?

We create a peaceful, welcoming space where people can rest, recharge, and be cared for. We serve hot and cold tea, offer water, distribute hygiene supplies and first aid, and host live music, interactive art, and meaningful conversation. Our volunteers are present to meet physical needs and, through authentic relationships, share the love of Jesus—allowing spiritual conversations to unfold naturally and compassionately.

Do you preach the gospel and boldly evangelize?

Yes, absolutely—but not in the way most people expect. We don’t preach at anyone or use pressure, fear, or confrontation. Our approach is rooted in relationship, not performance. We lead with love, listen well, and meet people where they are. Conversations about Jesus happen naturally, through trust and authentic connection. We believe the gospel is best shared in the context of compassion, presence, and the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

With this approach, we’ve been able to engage in thousands of gospel conversations—boldly and tenderly sharing the truth of God’s love. We believe what Romans 3:23 tells us: “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” But that isn’t the end of the story. In love, Jesus took on our sin, died, was buried, and rose again (1 Corinthians 15:3–4), so that through repentance and faith, we might receive forgiveness, freedom, and the hope of new life. This is the good news we carry—the kind that doesn’t demand, but invites.

What happens after attendees leave the festival?

We believe follow-up is just as important as showing up. We use a text-based system to stay connected with those we meet, especially individuals we connect with on a spiritual level—whether they’ve made a decision to follow Jesus, been baptized, or simply expressed a desire to go deeper.

After the festival, we continue the journey by offering discipleship resources, prayer, encouragement, and intentional follow-up. We help connect new believers with local Christian communities wherever they live, and we invite them into our own virtual community that runs year-round.

Because for us, discipleship and relationship don’t end when the music stops—they’re just beginning.

How is Love@Roo funded?

Love@Roo is completely donation-supported. Everything we do—from offering water, first aid, and hygiene supplies, to building out our camp space, creating interactive experiences, and equipping our volunteers—is made possible through the generosity of individuals, churches, and partners who believe in this mission.

Donations also help cover the logistical costs for hosting volunteers, many of whom take time off work to serve. Every gift, big or small, directly supports real moments of care, connection, and gospel impact at Bonnaroo. We are deeply grateful for those who give to make this ministry possible—and to be part of the story God is writing through Love@Roo.
